What to Expect
Sessions begin with a brief conversation around health history, what brings you in for a session, and what you are looking to receive. When there is a sense of readiness, we will move to the table. This is where clients can tailor the session to their comfort, from the choice of pillows and blankets to the right lighting and sound in the room.
We will start with some guided stabilization and settling. Before approaching the table or making any contact, I will ask for consent. Sessions are co-creative and collaborative. You are welcome to say no, not yet, change your mind, ask for specific contact, or for any adjustments you may need throughout the session. It's important that my clients feel comfortable and supported in each contact, and empowered to ask for what they need throughout a session.
From this place of comfort and support, clients may notice a variety of sensations that vary from person to person. People report a feeling of settling and relaxation, a sense of deep rest while being awake, or subtle movements of energy. Visuals, memories, realizations, or insights may also arise. It is also normal to not feel much initially, as it can take a few sessions for the body to build resources and for the nervous system to begin to thaw and connect.
This work is very gentle, less about big cathartic release, and more about small, digestible shifts over time. Sessions often involve a process of unwinding and letting go of patterns that inhibit the expression of health and vitality. This process can manifest as energy arising in the form of physical sensations, emotional release, nervous system activation, tension, or restrictive patterns. This isn't a sign something is wrong, but rather the body's way of bringing forward material to be met and released. We meet these places with resource first and foremost, alongside recognition, relational safety, and choice. Clients are welcome to pause or stop a session at any time or ask for something different.
Each session's completion is negotiated with space to re-orient to present time and place. There will be space for a brief discussion on what you are noticing in your body, what feels different, and to go over after care and integration.
